Bilt is adjusting several core features of its rewards program next year, with the most immediate shift already in effect for anyone holding Bilt Cash balances. The changes aim to reduce complexity while introducing new restrictions on certain redemptions and fresh earning opportunities tied to daily activity. Cardholders who act before the end of 2026 retain the most flexibility to preserve current benefits.
New Expiration Timeline for Bilt Cash
Bilt Cash will now expire on a rolling 12-month schedule rather than at the close of each calendar year. Any amount earned in November 2026, for example, will remain available until the end of November 2027. The policy applies retroactively to existing balances, and the Bilt app will display clear expiration dates for each portion of a member鈥檚 holdings. This replaces the prior rule that limited most balances to a single calendar year with only a small carryover allowance. Members now have a full year from the date of earning to redeem each dollar. The adjustment provides more breathing room for those who accumulate larger sums through rent payments or everyday spending.
Simplified Earning Options for New and Existing Cardholders
Beginning in 2027, new Bilt credit card applicants will receive only the housing-only rewards structure. That path delivers up to 1.25 points per dollar on qualifying rent or mortgage payments and removes the previous choice to earn 4 percent Bilt Cash on non-housing purchases. Cardholders who open an account by December 31, 2026, can keep the 4 percent Bilt Cash route if they opt out of the default change before their card anniversary. Those who already selected housing-only rewards face no action and may receive additional Bilt Cash in place of prior hotel credits. Annual credits themselves are also being consolidated: the Bilt Palladium Card will deliver $600 in Bilt Cash yearly instead of separate cash and hotel allowances, while the Obsidian Card moves to $100 in annual Bilt Cash.
Restrictions on Hotel Redemptions and New Daily Rewards
All members will face tighter limits on using Bilt Cash for hotel stays starting January 1, 2027. Blue and Silver members may redeem up to $50 twice per year, Gold and Platinum members up to $100 twice per year, and Palladium cardholders up to $200 twice per year. The previous monthly caps no longer apply. At the same time, Bilt plans to launch Daily Rewards on January 15, 2027. Members will earn these for on-time housing payments and qualifying purchases at neighborhood partners such as restaurants, fitness studios, or rideshare services. One reward is available per day, and users can choose an instant payout in points or cash or pool entries for larger prizes. Elite members will also gain new rental-car status benefits and the ability to apply Bilt Points at checkout for certain hotel reservations booked through Bilt Travel.
| Feature | Current Structure | 2027 Structure |
|---|---|---|
| Bilt Cash expiration | Calendar-year cutoff with limited rollover | Rolling 12-month window |
| New card earning choice | 4% Bilt Cash or housing-only | Housing-only only |
| Palladium annual credits | $200 cash + up to $400 hotel | $600 Bilt Cash |
| Hotel redemptions with Bilt Cash | Monthly limits | Twice per year only |
Existing cardholders who prefer the prior setup must opt out of the new benefits before their anniversary date to lock in the 4 percent Bilt Cash path. The points accelerator feature remains unchanged for those who keep that option. Bilt鈥檚 adjustments balance broader accessibility with tighter controls on high-value redemptions. Members who value flexibility around Bilt Cash should review their card status before the December 31, 2026 deadline.
