Travelers holding Chase Ultimate Rewards points now have a limited window to move them into Marriott Bonvoy at an unusually generous rate. Through October 15, a 70 percent transfer bonus applies, turning every 100,000 Chase points into 170,000 Marriott points instead of the standard 100,000. The promotion marks the most generous Chase-to-Marriott bonus observed to date and gives members a concrete way to stretch existing balances toward hotel stays. ([1])

The Mechanics Behind the Bonus

The transfer ratio improves from the usual one-to-one mapping to 1.7 Marriott points for every Chase point moved. Because transfers remain irreversible, the window rewards careful planning rather than speculation. Members can initiate transfers directly through their Chase accounts once they identify a specific Marriott award they intend to book.

Marriott properties continue to charge resort or destination fees even on award stays, so those costs should factor into any comparison with cash rates or alternative redemptions. The bonus applies across eligible Chase cards that participate in the Ultimate Rewards program, including premium travel cards that carry higher annual fees.

Properties That Become More Accessible

Several high-demand locations show meaningful savings under the boosted ratio. At the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, nights priced at 60,000 Marriott points drop to roughly 36,000 transferred Chase points. Overwater bungalows at the Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa, often listed near 84,000 points, become available from about 50,000 transferred Chase points.

In Honolulu, the Laylow Waikiki and the historic Moana Surfrider each feature nights starting at 57,000 Marriott points, which translates to approximately 34,000 Chase points after the bonus. New York properties such as the Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad and the St. Regis New York require between 102,000 and 106,000 Marriott points on certain dates, equating to 60,000 to 63,000 transferred Chase points.

Deciding Whether a Transfer Makes Sense

Valuations provide one reference point. Chase Ultimate Rewards points currently carry an estimated worth of 2.05 cents each, while Marriott Bonvoy points sit near 0.75 cents. Even after the 70 percent uplift, the effective value per original Chase point lands around 1.3 cents, below the standalone Chase valuation in many cases.

Direct comparisons remain essential. Travelers should check the cash rate for the desired dates, review pricing through Chase Travel, and divide the Marriott award price by 1.7 to estimate the required Chase points. Longer stays can benefit further from Marriott鈥檚 fifth-night-free policy on award redemptions, though fees still apply.

Positioning for Future Opportunities

Those without sufficient Chase points can target new sign-up bonuses on cards such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred, which offers 75,000 points after meeting a spending threshold, or the Chase Sapphire Reserve, which carries a larger initial bonus. Business versions of premium cards also provide substantial welcome offers that can be converted later.

Because award space and pricing fluctuate, the current bonus works best when a specific redemption is already identified rather than as a general accumulation strategy. Members who regularly eye Marriott properties may find the math favorable on select dates before the October 15 cutoff.

What matters now: Run award searches on Marriott鈥檚 site for dates that interest you, calculate the adjusted Chase-point cost, and compare it against cash or Chase Travel options before the promotion ends.

The 70 percent bonus gives a rare, time-bound lever for unlocking stays that might otherwise require more points or cash outlay. Those who identify a clear match can move points with confidence; others may prefer to keep Chase balances flexible for different partners. Either path starts with checking availability and running the numbers while the elevated rate remains active.
