If you think you know Daytona Beach, think again.
This summer, the iconic Florida destination is turning up the heat with a fresh wave of attractions, exhibits, and family-friendly upgrades, just in time for your next getaway.
Daytona Beach has always been famous for its 23 miles of white-sand beaches and racing legacy, but 2025 is shaping up to be a season of delightful surprises, according to the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. Whether you’re a return visitor or making your first beachside pilgrimage, there’s something new waiting around every palm tree.
Fresh Exhibits for Curious Minds
Art lovers and curious kids alike can enjoy two brand-new exhibits at the Museum of Arts & Sciences (MOAS). “Shoosty Bugs,” featuring whimsical, music-inspired works by artist and writer Stephen Shooster, brings color and creativity to life.
Over at the Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, “It’s a Ship Show” dives into Florida’s maritime history, packed with visual treasures that’ll make you feel like you’re sailing back through time. Both exhibits run through early 2026, so there is plenty of time to plan your visit throughout the year!
Honoring Heroes and Making Waves
The brand-new Veterans Memorial Plaza downtown is a moving tribute to Volusia County’s fallen heroes, complete with a World War I memorial, flags for each branch of the military, and a dramatic six-foot fire monument. It’s a meaningful stop, whether you’re local or just passing through while on your Florida vacation.
Meanwhile, over in Ponce Inlet, the Marine Science Center is preparing to reopen on June 23 after a $4.2 million upgrade. Expect even more hands-on exhibits, education space, and expanded displays about Florida’s marine life, which is perfect for families looking to blend fun with learning.
Fast Cars, Baseball, and Pizza Comebacks
NASCAR fans, mark your calendars: the Coke Zero Sugar 400 is back on August 23 after a one-year break. The 400-mile race is the grand finale of the regular season, making for a thrilling night under the lights.
Baseball fans will also notice improvements at Jackie Robinson Ballpark, where the Daytona Tortugas play. Upgrades include new seating, a sound system, and better views, plus a little piece of history since this is where Jackie Robinson played his first integrated MLB spring training game in 1946.
And for a slice of joy, Sam’s Coal Fired Pizza has reopened next to the freshly revamped International Speedway Blvd. beach ramp, right under the legendary “World’s Most Famous Beach” sign. More lanes and easier access make getting onto the beach smoother than ever.
