The chance to spend two nights in Dolly Parton’s retired tour bus turned hotel suite stands out as one of the most distinctive lodging options available at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa. The 45-foot Prevost vehicle, which carried the star nearly 360,000 miles between 2008 and 2022, now serves as a private retreat for two guests at a rate of $10,000. A portion of the proceeds supports the Dollywood Foundation and its Imagination Library program. ([1])

The Bus Conversion

Dolly Parton, who prefers travel by road over air, used the vehicle as both transportation and creative workspace during years of touring. The conversion preserved many original features while adding display cases for memorabilia and upgraded comforts for overnight guests. Hand-painted murals by a close friend decorate the main living area, and electronic pocket doors divide the space into distinct zones. The front section includes a couch, television, and dining table with a curved bench. A full-size refrigerator, larger than many apartment models, sits in the kitchen area. The bus also features three stacked bunks for companions and a retrofitted closet that once held sequined dresses and wigs.

Private Quarters and Daily Life

The rear of the bus holds Dolly’s former bedroom and a compact second bathroom. The bedroom features vibrant magenta, turquoise, and gold tones along with layered fabrics and fringe. A separate refrigerator and microwave allow easy access to snacks without leaving the space. Guests receive amenities such as embroidered towels, a plush robe, and a copy of her “Coat of Many Colors” album. The tiny bathroom includes a functional shower with a small bathtub. One guest tested the tub during the stay and noted the unusual but workable dimensions. The toilet requires holding a switch for flushing, a reminder that the space remains a converted bus despite its glamorous details.

Dining and Resort Perks

A multicourse dinner prepared by the resort’s executive chef is served on the bus with wine pairings. The meal featured grilled shrimp in pineapple, burrata salad, steak, asparagus, and a whole fish, followed by banana pudding, praline, and crème brûlée. Breakfast each morning is provided at the resort buffet. Stays also include access to Dollywood with line-skipping wristbands for select rides and a shuttle between the park and resort. Nearby attractions such as Dolly’s Stampede dinner show offer additional entertainment options during the visit. The overall experience blends personal connection to the performer’s history with the practical comforts of a high-end hotel stay.
