Premium rewards cards often carry annual fees in the hundreds or thousands of dollars. Many offset those costs through statement credits that reset on a biannual or quarterly schedule. With June 30 fast approaching, cardholders face a clear cutoff on several popular benefits tied to travel, dining, and business services.
American Express resets create immediate pressure
Several American Express cards carry credits that split into two six-month windows each year. The Business Platinum and personal Platinum both offer up to $300 toward prepaid Fine Hotels + Resorts or Hotel Collection stays booked through Amex Travel, with the first half expiring June 30. The same cards include quarterly credits for Resy dining and Lululemon purchases that also reset on July 1. Business Platinum holders additionally receive quarterly Indeed and Hilton credits. Gold Card members have a smaller biannual Resy credit that follows the same January-June and July-December pattern. Cardholders who have not yet selected an airline for the annual fee credit may still contact American Express before the deadline to adjust that designation.
Chase cards tie credits to events and recruiting
The Sapphire Reserve features two biannual credits resetting July 1. One covers up to $150 on StubHub or Viagogo event tickets, while the other applies to dining at Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables booked through OpenTable. The business version of the card offers a $200 ZipRecruiter credit and a $50 Giftcards.com credit on the same schedule. These benefits require activation in some cases and carry multi-year expiration dates on the underlying offers. Cardholders who miss the June window lose the first half of the annual allotment.
Hilton and Bilt cards focus on hotel spending
Hilton cobranded cards emphasize property-level spending. The Aspire provides a $200 biannual resort credit and quarterly flight credits. The Surpass and Business versions each carry quarterly Hilton portfolio credits of $50 and $60 respectively. All reset on July 1. Bilt’s Palladium and Obsidian cards include biannual hotel credits through the Bilt Travel portal that require a two-night minimum stay. The larger Palladium benefit reaches $200 per half-year, while the Obsidian version is $50. Both windows close at the end of June.
Citi adds one final chauffeur option
The Citi Strata Elite carries a $100 biannual Blacklane credit for chauffeur services. Like the others, it splits into January-June and July-December portions. Missing the current window means forgoing half the yearly value. Cardholders across issuers can still capture remaining value by booking eligible travel, dining, or business services before the calendar turns. Those who act now preserve the full offset against their annual fees.
