The Secluded Phuket Resort I Want To Chill At After Quarantine

Marriott Phuket

In my story on 5 things luxury travelers do in Phuket, I mention the resort I stayed at is on par with other luxury resorts in the area. Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa Nai Yang Beach in Thailand is a stunner, and it’s definitely one of the nicer Marriotts I’ve seen. In fact, during lockdown, it’s been on my mind.

Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa Nai Yang Beach is on its own secluded beach, making social distancing effortless, but I was most impressed with the direct, unobstructed views of the sea from the infinity pool. It was at the perfect eye level. It’s all I want to do all day: Gaze into the sea from a pool.

Having traveled 113 countries, hundreds of destinations and stayed in more hotels and resorts than anyone on this planet (over 600, and proud of it!), it’s a big statement saying that I’ve been thinking of this resort in particular.

If you’re thinking of heading to Phuket, Thailand after the travel ban lifts, pencil this gorgeous property into your plans.

The infinity pool is perfectly quiet and looks straight into the sea. The balmy weather is perfect, and you feel completely removed from civilization.

The secluded beach at the resort. Notice how massive the beach is for the resort. You practically have the entire beach to yourself.

My huge suite.

My large suite. Initially, I felt it was outdated, and it didn’t have enough of a beach vibe. Also, the room was extremely cookie cutter, but the longer I stayed, the more I acclimated.

Marriott could definitely give the rooms a makeover, but I spent so little time inside, it didn’t matter much. What mattered most was the convenience of being on the ground floor, with a sliding glass door that took me straight to the beach.

There's pool access straight from your patios.

There’s pool access straight from your patios (yes there are several pools here). For my entire stay, the resort was quiet and overcast, so I didn’t get too much sun, but I loved the humidity. I was able to simply lay out on this hammock all day!
