Happy New Year from Durham, North Carolina!
I started this six-day, North Carolina road trip with my friend Daniel in Asheville, and we’re excited to be in Durham for the first day of 2020!
OK, so Durham isn’t close to the lively, crazy cities I usually celebrate New Years, like New York City, Las Vegas or Cancun, but I wanted something laid-back and calm to ring in the new decade. I feel that this past year, I’ve had so much chaos (both good and bad), and it was time to set a new tone for 2020… and even the new decade.
Honestly, it feels great already ?
I’ve checked into 21C Museum Durham. I *love* this hotel brand, where every hotel is a museum featuring great contemporary artwork. I’ve stayed at the one in Nashville and Louisville, and I’m excited to be here in our gorgeous terrace suite.
Since I’m currently on the road exploring, I’ll be writing more about the city and hotel in the next few weeks, so look for my reviews.
Today is my last day in North Carolina (I leave for NYC tomorrow morning), so I’ll hit the ground running with new content as soon as I’m back!
In the meantime, happy new year! I have a great feeling about 2020, and especially the new decade to come!
