Business class has rebounded strongly since the pandemic, as carriers worldwide refresh and expand their premium cabins to meet demand from both corporate and leisure travelers. Several airlines have introduced new suite-style seats that emphasize privacy, comfort, and high-end finishes. Award availability on these products has opened opportunities for travelers using transferable points and airline miles.
United Polaris Elevated on Select 787s
United introduced its updated Polaris Elevated business-class product earlier this year on a small number of Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The seats feature silvery upholstery, woodgrain accents, faux-marble surfaces, and full privacy doors along with large 19-inch 4K screens. These aircraft currently operate between San Francisco and both Singapore and London Heathrow. Award space has appeared at saver levels for eligible MileagePlus members and cardholders. One recent booking secured a seat for 90,000 United miles plus taxes and fees, compared with cash fares exceeding $4,000. Points can be transferred from Chase Ultimate Rewards accounts linked to premium cards such as the Sapphire Reserve or Ink Business Preferred.
Air India A350 Suites and Swiss Senses
Air India has rolled out new 1-2-1 business-class suites with closing doors on its Airbus A350-900 fleet. The cabins serve routes from New Delhi to New York JFK, Newark, and London Heathrow, complete with Indian-inspired menus and premium amenities. Award space has surfaced through United MileagePlus at 88,000 miles or Aeroplan at 90,000 points plus modest taxes. Swiss introduced its Swiss Senses business class on new A350s, offering a range of seat types including private window positions and longer beds. The aircraft fly from Zurich to Boston and Seoul. Availability has been located on Aeroplan for 60,000 points plus taxes on the shorter daytime return from Boston, allowing passengers time to explore the seat controls and tablet features.
Etihad A321LR Narrow-Body Business Class
Etihad took delivery of new A321LR aircraft last year equipped with 1-1 business-class seats that face the cabin wall for enhanced views and privacy. The design includes marble accents, wireless charging, and 17.3-inch 4K screens on routes from Abu Dhabi to cities across Europe and Asia. No direct U.S. service exists yet, but connections through Abu Dhabi remain feasible. Redemptions have appeared at 30,000 American Airlines AAdvantage miles or 30,000 Flying Blue miles plus taxes. Both programs accept transfers from major banks including American Express, Capital One, and Chase.
Air New Zealand Business Premier and Starlux A350
Air New Zealand continues to equip 787-9 aircraft with its refreshed Business Premier seats in a 1-2-1 herringbone layout that reclines to 79-inch lie-flat beds. A premium row called Premier Luxe adds sliding doors for an extra fee. The product operates on routes from Auckland to San Francisco and Vancouver, with further 777 updates planned for 2027. Starlux has operated its A350 business class since 2023, featuring closing doors, 24-inch screens, and destination-inspired cocktails on flights from Taipei to several U.S. West Coast cities. Awards have been located through Alaska Airlines at 75,000 miles plus taxes when space opens in batches.
Looking Ahead
Additional new business-class products remain on the horizon, including Qantas suites for its Project Sunrise flights and an updated Delta One configuration on the A350-1000. Cathay Pacific’s Aria Suite also continues to draw attention on select long-haul routes. Travelers monitoring award charts and alert tools can position themselves for these releases as schedules and availability evolve.
