Obviously, nobody wants to test positive for Covid-19 when traveling to Mexico, but the fact Palmaia will offer the 14-day mandatory quarantine for free only shows the resort goes the extra mile for its guests.

In fact, the virus has been a constant worry for travelers who do travel internationally. If they test positive, they are restricted in quarantine, have the stress of figuring out where to stay without burning through their bank, and also worry about getting proper treatment should any symptoms become problematic.

The new offer from Palmaia helps bring peace of mind for guests booking in the future.

However, if do test positive for Covid-19 in Mexico while staying at Palmaia, don’t expect it to be a free vacation.

During the quarantine period, guests will be confined to their expansive suite and will not be permitted to use resort facilities, according to the resort. The good news is that the suites are huge, cozy and have outdoor decks.

The other silver lining is that the resort will provide guests with three meals a day, as well as non-alcoholic beverages, so guests don’t have to worry about paying for meals during this time.

Additionally, in light of new mandates set forth by the United States, requiring that all travelers who enter the U.S. from a foreign country provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of boarding their flight, the property, is now offering guests two convenient methods of testing on-property.

  • Complimentary antigen tests, with same-day results
  • Through a partnership with a local medical center, PCR tests are available for $150, with results available within 48-72 hours

Palmaïa has 314 guest rooms, four gourmet restaurants, an al fresco beach bar, a jungle spa and an incredible beachfront location on Riviera Maya.

The resort is located in the upscale, residential community of Playacar, just outside Playa Del Carmen‘s main town (along Fifth Avenue), near the end of the beach area, so it feels remote and secluded. Guests will feel like they’re staying at a private beach club rather than a typical all-inclusive resort, which distinguishes the property.

Guests who do check into Palmaia will be pampered since all rates are inclusive, including a la carte meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner), alcoholic beverages, activities (like yoga and sound healing), mini-bar, room service, butler service and bikes.
