My friend Josh and I have been traveling through The Catskills in the most popular towns, like Hunter and Windham, and we just arrived at the new Shandaken Inn in Shandaken, New York.
Shandaken Inn is a 15-room bed and breakfast that feels like a small boutique hotel. While the structure is almost a 100 years old, it was recently renovated with a new direction and vision, and it opened in December 2019. It’s completely surrounded by nature, located along an old railroad track and creek, and it’s pretty remote for those who want a true escape.
The rooms are spacious and modern with comfortable beds, flat-screen Roku TVs, Malin & Goetz amenities and large windows.
Our suite, which had a fireplace and huge bathroom, was completely flooded with sunlight throughout the day. If you know me, you know I *love* a bathroom that has windows. The inn has sprawling grounds, an outdoor pool (currently closed for the season), tennis courts, a 24-hour gym, a gorgeous lounge and a restaurant that is literally opening tonight (so I’ll definitely have a review for you).
Shandaken Inn is conveniently located a 10-minute drive from the funky and historic town of Phoenicia, which is a magnet to young and hip travelers, especially Phoenicia Diner.
As always, I’ll write a longer review later. For now, check out photos of the intimate property!
And if you plan on traveling, definitely book through TripAdvisor. You can actually book hotels through the site, and I found they offer the best rates.
