More than eight in ten travel planners devote over ten hours to organizing a single group outing, according to a Klook survey of 2,725 people across ten markets. Their spreadsheets, schedules, and contingency plans often receive little acknowledgment once the journey begins. Klook is now turning that dynamic around with a worldwide effort to identify and reward five such planners.
The Quiet Labor of Keeping Trips on Track
Every circle of friends includes at least one person who compares flight options, secures hotel blocks, tracks group payments, and monitors weather forecasts days in advance. These coordinators field last-minute changes, calm anxious travelers, and maintain detailed documents that others rarely see. The same survey found that 42.4 percent of planners continue checking arrangements even after handing off responsibility, a habit that reflects their ingrained sense of duty.
The work extends beyond logistics. Planners research opening hours, align everyone’s availability, and often absorb the emotional load when plans shift. Their contributions make collective travel feasible, yet the role rarely earns public thanks or relief from future duties.
Klook Turns Attention to the Coordinators
The company’s campaign invites nominations for the five most deserving planners. Michelle Ho, General Manager of Klook Philippines, noted that the platform was built to ease planning burdens so travelers can focus on experiences. She added that group planners carry the weight of every trip and now deserve a vacation free of those responsibilities.
Submissions remain open through August 31, 2026. Nominees or self-nominees must describe a specific instance when the planner held a trip together, whether by rescuing a booking or maintaining calm during disruptions. A short video can accompany the story to illustrate the planner’s methods in action.
The Reward: Seven Days Without a Spreadsheet
Selected winners will receive a fully hosted seven-day trip to Switzerland in December 2026. Their sole obligation is to arrive and participate; all arrangements, transportation, and daily activities will be managed by others. The destination offers scenic variety and structured experiences that require no advance coordination from the guests.
This format directly addresses the survey finding that planning ranks among the least appreciated contributions people make for their companions. By removing every organizational task, the prize lets winners experience travel as most participants do.
Steps to Enter the Search
Anyone can nominate a planner or put forward their own name. The process centers on a written account of the planner’s contributions and an optional video no longer than sixty seconds. Acceptable formats include direct uploads or links to TikTok, YouTube, or Google Drive.
- Highlight a moment the planner resolved a crisis or kept the group aligned.
- Show examples of spreadsheets, packing lists, or group-chat management if available.
- Keep submissions focused on concrete actions rather than general praise.
Entries will be reviewed for the five winners who best represent the archetype of the overlooked organizer.
The campaign underscores a familiar travel reality: reliable planners enable shared adventures yet seldom receive equivalent ease on their own journeys. Klook’s initiative offers a concrete way to change that pattern for a small group of dedicated individuals.
