Amazon has shifted its restaurant delivery partnership for Prime members from Grubhub to Uber Eats. The change brings a new introductory promotion that can deliver up to $40 in savings on qualifying orders placed through the Amazon platform. Members must act by November 18 to take advantage of the launch deal on U.S. restaurant orders of $25 or more. ([1])
The Partnership Change and Launch Promotion
The move ends the previous Grubhub+ inclusion for Prime members and installs Uber Eats as the new delivery option integrated directly into Amazon accounts. To mark the transition, eligible members receive $20 off each of their first two orders that meet the $25 minimum. This limited window runs through November 18 and covers both delivery and pickup from participating U.S. restaurants. The promotion stands apart from any existing Uber Eats accounts or promotions a member might already hold. Orders must be placed via the Amazon app or website while logged into a linked Prime account. After the two discounted orders, the benefit shifts to ongoing $0 delivery fees on future eligible orders of $25 or more.
How the Benefit Works in Practice
Prime members do not need to download a separate app or create a new Uber Eats profile. The experience routes through an existing Amazon login, using the same payment methods already on file. This setup mirrors the convenience of ordering household items with free Prime shipping, except the items arrive from local restaurants via Uber Eats drivers. The $20 discounts apply whether the member chooses delivery or opts for pickup at the restaurant. Pickup orders can therefore yield the full $20 savings on a $25 meal with fewer added fees. Delivery orders may still include service charges and tips that reduce the net discount.
Additional Perks and Smart Usage Tips
Amazon has indicated that further Prime-exclusive Uber Eats offers will appear on its platform, potentially adding more than $175 in annual value beyond the initial promotion. Prime Visa cardholders also earn 5 percent back on Uber Eats purchases made through December 5, 2026, when the membership remains active. Members should compare total costs between the Amazon-linked Uber Eats experience and any separate Uber Eats account they maintain. Existing promotions, credit card rewards, or account-specific discounts on the standalone app could sometimes produce a better overall price once the introductory period ends. Tracking both options helps ensure the lowest final amount on each order.
