Allegiant Air has introduced nine new routes that strengthen connections between New England and Florida during periods of high leisure demand. Seven of the additions operate on a hyper-seasonal basis, limited to roughly two months each to align with spring break schedules and other peak vacation windows. The remaining two routes provide either year-round or extended seasonal service in other markets.
Routes From Boston Logan
Three new flights will depart Boston Logan International Airport for Florida airports. Service to Orlando Sanford International Airport begins February 13 and runs through April 24. Additional flights reach Punta Gorda Airport and St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport on the same schedule.
These options give Boston-area travelers direct access to several central and western Florida destinations without requiring connections. The limited duration reflects Allegiant’s model of matching aircraft deployment to concentrated periods of traveler interest.
Routes From Providence and Portsmouth
Providence’s T. F. Green International Airport gains three hyper-seasonal flights. Nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Orlando Sanford International Airport, and Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport all start February 13, with the Orlando route extending one day longer to April 25.
A separate hyper-seasonal route links Portsmouth International Airport in New Hampshire with Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport from February 20 through May 1. Together these four routes account for the bulk of the New England expansion and target travelers seeking convenient escapes during local school breaks.
Additional Service Beyond New England
Allegiant will also operate year-round flights between Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and Orlando International Airport. This marks a shift from seasonal patterns to consistent daily or near-daily availability.
Seasonal service from Grand Forks International Airport in North Dakota to Orlando Sanford International Airport runs from February 10 through April 17. The route uses Orlando’s secondary airport, consistent with Allegiant’s frequent use of smaller facilities to control costs.
Airline Perspective on the Expansion
Chief Commercial Officer Drew Wells described the additions as a demonstration of the carrier’s flexible business model. The routes respond directly to demand signals and offer more choices during concentrated leisure periods, according to the announcement.
Hyper-seasonal flights allow the airline to redeploy aircraft efficiently once peak windows close. This approach differs from traditional carriers that maintain fixed schedules year-round regardless of load factors.
Practical Effects for Passengers
Travelers in New England now have more nonstop choices to Florida at times when demand traditionally spikes. The short operating windows mean advance booking will be important for those with fixed spring break dates.
Residents of Cincinnati gain reliable year-round access to Orlando, while North Dakota travelers receive a concentrated seasonal option. All routes remain subject to standard fare rules and availability on Allegiant’s website.
