Beddley Duvet Cover Review: Is Zipper The New Button?

If you don’t know already, I’m a big fan of my bed. I have a wonderful Purple bed for maximum comfort, as well as Cozy Earth sheets to really bring that “someone should be feeding me grapes” feel. No, seriously. After 10 hours of work on a daily basis, it’s nice to slip into a comfortable bed. Recently I discovered Beddley Duvet Cover. I’d say my duvet is the only thing that needed an upgrade. I was surprised Beddley Duvet Cover — which appeared on the hit show Shark Tank — was affordable considering it’s considered among the best, so I gave it a shot. Here’s my Beddley Duvet Cover review, and if you’re so inclined, use code JIMMY15 to get $15 off on the website.

Beddley Duvet Cover Review: Is it worth it?

Beddley is the first duvet cover of its kind that is powered by three-sided Zipper™ open and close technology to fit duvet covers. What exactly does that mean? It takes less time to slip on your duvet, so the hard angle here is convenience. I have to admit, I am not a fan of putting on my duvet cover. I live alone, and putting on duvet covers are really more a two-person project. Beddley actually takes the frustration of trying to fit your duvet cover back on after laundry day.

I received Beddley duvet cover and it came in a handy little slip-in bag. No frills, no fuss. I opted for Grey Marbella, since most of my duvet covers are white or blue, so I wanted to mix it up a bit. I did enjoy the color, which is great year-round, and perfect for the upcoming fall. Of course, the real situation was: Is this duvet cover going to be fast and convenient, and will it be comfortable?

As you can see, it does have zippers instead of buttons. The nylon coil zipper closure was effective, and the zippers were not cheap; they didn’t snag on the fabric and they had a thickness and heaviness that I liked. Naturally, I couldn’t not mention this in my Beddley duvet cover review.

When I put it to test, it did take less time than a duvet cover with buttons. I liked that it had a 3-sized zipper closure and corner ties. it’s also not as noticeable as you woud think once it’s on your bed. As for comfort, it’s 300 thread count, and sateen fabric, so it’s quite cool, made with 100% long-staple cotton, so it’s also breathable. It’s actually quite soft, cozy and nice to snuggle under.

The best part? It is very affordable. In fact, the price is $169 (for a Queen size), although you can always find sales on their website. Several are $135. This is almost half the price of Brooklinen, which I consider among the best, and Beddley is right there with them. While some people may raise an eyebrow at zippers, I find it convenient. It’s not for everyone, especially since they’ve been accustomed to buttons for almost a century, but zippers are revolutionizing the bedding game.

We also live in a world of instant gratification. Beddley duvet cover will appeal to more of a younger, Gen Z / millennial market.

The global bedding market size was valued at $96 billion in 2022, according to Grand View Research.
