Explora Journeys launched its Explora Club loyalty program one year ago to recognize returning guests on its luxury expedition cruises. The program has now entered a new phase through an expanded partnership with Hilton Honors. Members can earn and redeem points on sailings while accessing status-based benefits that bridge hotel stays and ocean voyages.
Partnership Opens Cross-Brand Earning
Hilton Honors members who book Explora Journeys cruises through Hilton now earn 10 base points for every U.S. dollar spent on fares. They also receive a 5 percent discount on cruise fares and the ability to redeem points for voyages, though award pricing remains to be announced. The arrangement builds on an earlier promotion that offered bonus points and onboard credits for bookings made by June 2026.
Explora Journeys president Anna Nash described the collaboration as a reflection of shared values in hospitality. She noted that the partnership creates a seamless link between two premium brands and gives members greater flexibility in planning travel. Hilton chief marketing officer Mark Weinstein added that the effort provides new ways for members to earn, redeem, and enjoy unique access across both portfolios.
Elite Tiers Unlock Added Onboard Privileges
Benefits scale with Hilton elite status. Gold members and above receive an invitation to a welcome cocktail party with ship leadership. Diamond members gain extra Journey Experience Credits for spa treatments, wine tastings, and bridge tours when available. Diamond Reserve members also qualify for private port transfers.
Eligible cruise spending counts toward Hilton Honors elite qualification. The structure rewards travelers who already spend heavily on luxury experiences and creates additional pathways to maintain or reach higher hotel status levels. Explora Club members can likewise earn Hilton points when sailing, tightening the connection between the two programs.
First Year Shows Strong Member Engagement
Explora Club has exceeded internal expectations in its opening year. Members book further ahead, choose higher suite categories on repeat sailings, and show higher return rates than nonmembers. Many also extend stays and pre-book wellness and destination experiences to maximize time on board.
Guests have responded most positively to the sense of recognition rather than to points alone. Journey Experience Credits allow personalization of onboard time, while a referral program has grown steadily as members introduce friends and family. Dedicated onboard gatherings have given leadership direct feedback from returning travelers.
Status Match and Exclusive Offers Shape Growth
Many members remain at the entry Classic and Silver levels after just one year. A status match program has brought in Gold and Platinum members from other luxury cruise lines, allowing them immediate access to enhanced benefits. Diamond status stays exclusive, earned only through repeated sailings with Explora Journeys.
During July 2026, Silver members and above can access extra savings on select future journeys as part of anniversary celebrations. These targeted offers and the upcoming President’s Cruise in December are expected to refine the program further based on direct member input.
Broader Reach for Luxury Travelers
The partnership introduces Explora Journeys to a large community of Hilton Honors members who may not have considered expedition cruising. Early feedback indicates interest from hotel guests seeking new high-end experiences at sea. Both brands view the link as an invitation in both directions, encouraging Explora guests to explore Hilton properties worldwide.
Explora Club continues to evolve with its members rather than through arbitrary changes. The focus remains on building genuine, long-term relationships that feel personal and rewarding for affluent travelers who value consistency across their journeys on land and at sea.
