Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) is a terrifyingly good time aimed to scare and amuse guests. Famed as a premier Halloween event, HHN features haunted houses, creepy decorations, rides, and attractions. With several new attractions this year, Universal Orlando aims to up the scare factor this year. There are a total of ten new haunted houses this year.

There are also five scare zones “filled with hundreds of menacing creatures who will reign the streets of Universal Studios Florida.”
Guests can also see live shows, shop for specialty Halloween Horror Nights merchandise, and nosh on themed food and drinks at one of the many on-site restaurants. Select rides will also be open during HHN. And while Halloween Horror Nights is technically all ages, it’s not advised for anyone under 13 years old, due to its scare factor.
Universal Studios in Hollywood, California also participates in Halloween Horror Nights, however, details about its celebration have not yet been released by Universal.
When Does Halloween Horror Nights Begin
Halloween Horror Nights will begin on August 30, 2024, a day earlier than last year. It will run on select nights through November 3 for a total of 48 nights. The event dates are as follows:
- August 30-31
- September 1, 4-8, 11-15, 18-22, 25-29
- October 2-6, 9-13, 16-20, 23-27, 30-31
- November 1-3.
Ticket Options
Tickets for Halloween Horror Nights start at $82.99 per person plus tax. You can purchase them here. That ticket gets you into every attraction and ride that is open. You can also purchase an express pass that allows you to skip the line one time at each haunted house, plus a few other participating rides and attractions. That upgrade is $129.99 extra; the price does not include admission; you must buy admission separately.
If you really want to get up close and personal with this event, opt for the R.I.P Tour. The tour hooks you up with a V.I.P guide to walk you through HHN, and grants you priority entry to the haunted houses (one entry per haunted house is included).
The R.I.P. experience starts at $359.99. It may cost more based on availability and the day and time you wish to take the tour. As with the express upgrade, this ticket is an add-on experience. You must also buy a general admission ticket to Haunted Horror Nights.
If you’d rather experience HHN during daylight hours, you can upgrade to the Behind the Screams daytime tour. This tour takes you through either three or six haunted houses, but during the day and with the lights on. The three haunted house tour starts at $99.99 per guest. The six haunted house tour starts at $179.99 per person. This upgrade price is also in addition to the regular admission price.
You can also save money by bundling the Halloween Horror Nights admission ticket with hotel reservations. Doing so can save up to $200. The package comes with admission to HHN, reservations at a Universal hotel, and admission to all three Universal Orlando theme parks, making it an excellent choice for a family-friendly Florida getaway.
Guests with the hotel bundle also get a dedicated gate at Halloween Horror nights, plus Early Park Admission to the three theme parks.
