Cancun – Travelers with upcoming trips to Mexico’s Caribbean coast face a notable change at one well-known property. The Breathless Cancún Soul Resort & Spa will close its doors under Hyatt management at the end of October and reopen the next day under Hilton ownership. The shift adds another adults-only all-inclusive option to the Hilton portfolio while removing a longtime Hyatt-branded choice from the market.
Timeline and Immediate Impact
The transition occurs on October 31. On that date the property will reopen as Amàre Cancun Adults Only All-Inclusive Resort, Curio by Hilton. Existing reservations made through Hyatt will require rebooking or transfer, and guests holding Hyatt loyalty points or status will lose the ability to earn or redeem them at the resort after the change. Hilton Honors members gain a new redemption option in a popular destination.
Property Details That Remain Unchanged
The resort keeps its 429 rooms and suites, each with balconies and views of either the Nichupté Lagoon or the Caribbean Sea. The two-tower layout and overall room count stay the same. Location on Boulevard Kukulcan between the sea and the lagoon also remains fixed, preserving easy access to Cancun’s main attractions.
New Features and Guest Experiences
Hilton plans several updates before reopening. Public areas and food-and-beverage outlets will receive enhancements. The resort will feature nine restaurants and nine bars, including concepts developed with Michelin-starred chefs that combine Mediterranean techniques with Mexican and Latin American ingredients. A coffee shop will operate for quick service. Additional offerings include signature sunrise and golden-hour rituals, Mediterranean-inspired wellness programs, and entertainment with resident DJs and live performers. The property will continue to provide a spa, a fitness center, and 10,000 square feet of meeting space. Three pools, two of them on rooftops, complete the leisure facilities.
Practical Booking Information
Opening rates start around $308 per night for double occupancy. Hilton Honors members can book stays with 89,000 points. The adults-only policy will remain in place, targeting guests seeking a quieter, kid-free environment. The move strengthens Hilton’s presence in the all-inclusive segment in a key leisure market. Guests who prefer the Hilton ecosystem now have one more established option in Cancun, while those loyal to Hyatt will need to identify alternative properties for future visits.
