Covid-19 upended the travel industry, and many hotels have begun shuttering, including the Times Square Edition in NYC, due to the pandemic. While hotel chains have responded to the lack of guests in different ways and can only hope they return soon, Peninsula Hotels is sweetening the deal. Starting January 2021, Peninsula Hotels will eliminate check-in and check-out times for guests.
As part of its new offering called Peninsula Time, The Peninsula Hotels, a luxury hotel chain with five-star properties around the world, including three in the US — Peninsula Beverly Hills, Peninsula New York and Peninsula Chicago— announced flexible check-in and check-out times at all its properties.
This means guests checking in for a stay can do so before 4 PM (the standard check in time) and stay in their room after 12 pm the next day (the standard check out time).
While it may not sound like much, the new offering makes a world of difference.
Let’s say your flight arrives at 6 am in Chicago. You can have access to your room before the 4 pm check-in time and no longer have to kick around in the lounge or find things to do. The next day, let’s say you have a night flight at 10 PM. You have your room all day until you leave the hotel. No need to store your luggage and check out at noon.
With Peninsula Time, your booked room is theoretically available over 24 hours, depending on how long you need it until midnight the next day.
Peninsula Time comes at no extra charge if you book directly with the hotel or preferred travel advisor, according to the brand.
Early check-in and check-out at other luxury hotel brands generally come with a fee, or they do not extend as far as Peninsula Hotel’s plan. For instance, Marriott International launched a new package that allows booked guests to have early check-in at 6 am and late check-out until 6 pm.
In addition to Peninsula Time, Peninsula Hotel is also offering more perks for its guests to offer comfort and peace of mind. Beginning 1 January 2021, guests who reserve rooms or suites directly via peninsula.com will be able to select and confirm a connecting room or suite at the time of booking.
The Right Connection includes:
- 20% off the room rate when booking two connecting rooms
- 25% off the room rate when booking a connecting room and suite
- Daily breakfast for each guest staying in a connecting room or suite
- US$100 credit at hotel restaurants or spa during the stay
Peninsula also launched scented bathroom amenities made with natural ingredients.
